EDITORS, NEWS DIRECTORS: You are invited to attend and cover the kick-off of “I Am College Bound/I Applied”, an initiative to increase the number of first-generation and low-income students pursuing a college degree or other higher education credential.
The primary purpose of this effort, coordinated nationally by the American Council on Education, is to help high school seniors navigate the complex college admissions process and ensure they apply to at least one postsecondary institution during a daytime event at their high school. This statewide initiative is coordinated by the Center for College Planning at NH Higher Education Assistance Foundation (NHHEAF) in partnership with NH colleges and universities, NH school counselors, NH Department of Education, NH College & University Council, and other statewide stakeholders. It is expected nearly 1000 NH high school seniors will participate statewide.
Where: Pembroke Academy Gymnasium 209 Academy Rd, Pembroke, NH 03275
Other participating high schools during the week of November 14, in addition to Pembroke Academy include: Belmont, Berlin, Dover, Fall Mountain, Groveton, Kearsarge, Keene, Laconia, Manchester Central, Manchester West, Mascenic, Nashua South, Newfound, Newport, Portsmouth, Profile, Raymond, Salem, Sanborn Regional, Somersworth, Stevens and White Mountains.
