The American College Application Campaign, launched by the American Council on Education (ACE), is a national effort to increase the number of first-generation and low-income students who pursue a postsecondary education. The purpose is to help high school seniors navigate the college admissions process and ensure that each participating student submits at least one admissions application. Special focus is placed on assisting students who would be the first in their families to attend college and students who may not have otherwise seriously considered applying to college. Follow-up support and materials regarding completing the college admissions and financial aid processes are distributed as well.

In New Hampshire, our “I Am College Bound/I Applied” campaign began in 2014 when 264 students at six public high schools submitted 533 college applications. In 2018, we will work with approximately 42 public high schools and expect to work with roughly 1700 high school seniors as they begin their path to postsecondary education. We expect our volunteers will help these students submit 4200 college applications.

Volunteer support is integral for our campaign to succeed. We encourage school counselors, college admissions and financial aid professionals, college access professionals and interested community stakeholders to volunteer for one or more of our events listed below. Training via a short pre-recorded webinar will be provided in early November.

Each high school will contact you prior to their event and confirm the actual event start and end times, parking information, etc.

We encourage you, and your institution to Tweet about your participation in this event by using #collegeboundnh and #reachhighernh.

Please feel free to email Tori Berube, State Coordinator for "I Am College Bound/I Applied" or call (603)227-5310. Thank you for volunteering!
